 [마이데일리 = 박서연 기자] 그룹 NCT 마크가 솔로 아티스트로 첫 발걸음을 뗐다.
 7일 오후 6시 NCT 마크의 첫 솔로앨범 'The Firstfruit' 전곡 음원과 타이틀곡 '1999' 뮤직비디오가 베일을 벗었다. 
 마크는 'The Firstfruit'를 통해 고향 토론토, 첫 이주지 뉴욕, 학창 시절을 보낸 밴쿠버, 아티스트의 꿈을 펼치고 있는 서울 등 지금까지 걸어오며 남긴 발자취를 담아냈다. 
 타이틀곡 '1999'는 웅장한 오케스트레이션과 펑키한 사운드의 기타, 브라스 세션, 휘파람 등 다채로운 악기 사운드가 경쾌한 분위기를 자아내는 팝 장르의 곡이다. 특히 마크는 이번 타이틀곡에서 솔로 앨범이라는 첫 열매를 맺는 이날을 자신이 태어난 1999년도를 다시 맞이한 것처럼 기쁘다는 의미와 세기의 마지막 해에 태어난 자신이 세기의 마지막을 장식하는 아티스트가 되겠다는 포부를 밝혀 이목을 집중시킨다. 
 마크는 첫 솔로앨범에 대해 "정말 모든 걸 쏟아부은 앨범이다. 그동안 쌓아온 창의적인 에너지와 솔직한 감정을 가장 깊이 있게 담아냈고, 저의 자전적인 이야기가 고스란히 녹아 있다"고 전했다. 
 마크의 지난 26년간의 발자취를 모두 담았다. 마크라는 사람, 아티스트로서의 마크를 좀 더 알고 싶다면 심혈을 기울여 작업한 첫 솔로앨범 'The Firstfruit'를 꼭 감상해보길.
