 여름은 보통 '온천'이라는 단어랑 거리가 멀다. 추운 한겨울 뜨끈하게 온천에 몸을 담그는 편이 상상이 잘 가지, 무더위가 몰아치는 지금 여름에는 잘 생각이 나지 않는다. 그러나 이번 성수에서 개최한 '아리의 온천' 오프라인 팝업 스토어는 무더운 한여름에도 충분히 방문할 가치가 있었다.
 라이엇게임즈는 7월 16일부터 7월 27일까지 매일 오전 11시부터 오후 8시까지 '아리의 온천' 오프라인 팝업 스토어를 운영한다. 성수역에서 가까운 '무신사 스페이스 성수 4'에 위치하고 있으며 건물 외관부터 확실하게 꾸며놨기에 찾기가 어렵지는 않다.
 우연의 일치인지 첫 오픈 날에는 비가 조금씩 내리는 터라 날씨가 그렇게 덥지 않았다. 기존에 비하면 오히려 살짝 쌀쌀할 정도였기에 온천이라는 테마와 더욱 잘 어울렸다.

 현장은 오픈런을 위해 달려온 유저들이 자리를 채웠다. 비가 오는 날씨 속에서도 팝업 스토어를 방문하기 위해 매너 있게 대기열을 지키는 유저들을 보며 어딘가 자랑스럽기도 했다.
 팝업 스토어 현장은 예약제로 입장할 수 있다. 1시간마다 1회차를 갱신하며 회차마다 입장 인원에 제한이 있다. 이로 인해 의미 없는 대기 시간이 줄어들고 내부 동선이 꼬이는 일 없이 쾌적한 관람과 체험이 가능했다.
 처음 입장하면 스탬프 이벤트를 위한 리플렛을 제공받는다. 자연스럽게 내부 이벤트를 즐기다 보면 무료 굿즈까지 획득할 수 있다. 현장에서는 다양한 체험 존을 통해 방문객들에게 즐길 거리를 제공한다.

 특이한 미니 게임으로 '소나의 아리아'가 있다. 앞에 존재하는 6개의 사운드박스에서 각각 스킬 사운드가 들린다. 여기서 소나가 사용하는 스킬 사운드가 몇 번인지 맞추면 된다. 팁을 주자면 사운드박스를 누른 직후 조금 뒤 소리가 나온다. 이로 인해 한 박자씩 뒤로 밀리는 느낌이 들기에 사운드가 등장하는 순서를 기억하면 손 쉽게 맞출 수 있다.
 모든 미니 게임을 체험한 뒤에는 스탬프 랠리를 완성할 수 있다. 스탬프를 완성 이후에는 경품 데스크에 찾아가 제비뽑기를 통해 경품을 수령할 수 있다. 기자는 7등 상품을 뽑아 '와드 키링'을 얻었다. 여기서 등장하는 굿즈들은 모두 비매품이다.
 경품을 수령한 뒤에는 자연스럽게 굿즈 스토어를 마주할 수 있다. 일정 금액 이상 시 '영혼의 꽃 아리 부채'와 같은 특별 굿즈도 제공한다. 기존에도 구매 가능한 굿즈들은 당연히 판매하고 있으며 이번 테마인 '온천'과 관련된 신규 굿즈들도 판매하고 있다.

 원하는 굿즈들을 구매한 유저는 "아침부터 오픈런을 결심했는데 오기를 잘한 것 같다. 내부 분위기도 너무 좋고 현장에서 체험하는 미니 게임들도 즐거웠다"며 소감을 남겼다. 덧붙여 "기존 오프라인 팝업 스토어는 너무 혼잡한 동선이나 긴 대기 시간이 걱정되서 가지 않았는데, 이번 아리의 온천은 그런 불편 없이 편안하게 즐길 수 있었다"며 만족감을 드러냈다.
 라이엇 게임즈는 "영혼의 꽃 테마 스킨 공개를 맞아 플레이어가 오프라인에서도 다양한 이벤트를 즐길 수 있는 공간을 마련했다. 서울 중심부인 성수동에 LoL 플레이어가 가장 사랑하는 테마 중 하나인 '영혼의 꽃'으로 꾸며진 공간을 2주간 운영할 예정이니 많은 플레이어가 방문해 즐길 수 있기를 바란다"고 전했다.
