 [TV리포트=남금주 기자] 안유성 명장이 국가적 재난에 도움의 손길을 내민 이유를 고백했다.
 1일 방송된 MBN '특종세상'에서는 '흑백요리사' 시즌1에 출연했던 안유성이 등장했다. 
 이날 안유성의 옷방엔 보물이 걸려 있었다. 16대 조리 명장인 안유성은 "8번 도전해서 7번 떨어졌다. 8번 만에 (명장이) 됐다. 대한민국 조리 명장님들이 여기에 다 사인을 해주셨다"라며 제일 막내라고 고백했다. 2023년 최연소 나이로 대한민국 16대 조리 명장으로 등극했다고. 
 이어 출근한 안유성은 생선 손질 후 밥을 체크했다. 안유성은 "밥 온도는 36도? 사람 체온과 비슷하다. 초밥용 밥이 입에 들어갔을 때 사람 체온 정도로 적정한 온도라면 밥이 입에서 확 퍼지는 맛이 나오더라"고 설명했다.

 안유성의 일식당엔 또 다른 식당이 연결되어 있었다. 안유성은 "어머니가 시골에서 하셨던 고깃집의 역사를 이어가고 있다. 어머니가 하신 식당에 김영삼 전 대통령도 오셨다. 제가 김대중 전 대통령 때부터 모셨으니까 (저보다) 어머니가 대통령을 먼저 모신 것"이라고 자랑했다. 
 안유성은 '흑백요리사' 출연 비화도 공개했다. 안유성은 "명장이 된 다음 해에 (방송) 출연 요청이 왔다. 심사위원으로 갈 순 있지만, 제가 심사받는 건 자존심이 허락하지 않았다. 한 6개월간 고사했다"고 털어놓았다. 호남엔 출연자가 없단 말에 출연을 결심한 안유성은 이후 인생이 180도로 달라졌다. 안유성은 "절 보기 위해 싱가포르, 호주 등 해외에서도 오신다"고 감사한 마음을 전했다.
 이어 안유성은 보물 1호를 공개했다. 바로 돌아가신 어머니의 편지였다. 안유성은 다시 편지를 읽으며 눈물을 흘렸고, "진짜 힘들 때 많이 봤다"고 털어놓았다. 서울에서 꿈을 펼쳐보고 싶었다. 누나 지갑에서 만 원 훔쳐서 상경했다"라며 "막내가 서울에 가서 연락이 끊기니 (어머니가) 많이 애를 많이 태우신 것 같다. 곱게 차린 한복 입고 오셔서 배 한 박스를 (동료들) 나눠주셨다"라며 어머니의 깊은 마음을 헤아렸다.

 국가적 재난마다 현장으로 달려가 요리로 위로했던 안유성은 "거기에 가봐야겠단 마음 때문에 손에 일이 안 잡혔다. 내가 할 수 있는 건 음식이니까 따뜻한 곰탕을 끓여 갔다. 젊은 소방관 한 분이 '이제 좀 살 것 같다'고 하시더라. 음식이 따뜻한 정으로 통할 수 있겠다고 생각했다"고 털어놓았다.
