 쿠로게임즈 '퍼니싱: 그레이 레이븐'이 신촌 한복판에 모습을 드러냈다. 30도를 웃도는 무더위였지만, 행사장을 찾은 지휘관들의 열기는 그 이상으로 뜨거웠다.
 기자는 평소 '동생겜'으로 불리는 명조: 워더링 웨이브를 주로 다루고 있다. 퍼니싱은 지금의 쿠로게임즈를 만들어준 게임이다. 명조가 동생이라면 퍼니싱은 언니 같은 존재다. 이에 언니겜의 오프라인 행사도 가보고 싶었다.
 이번 신촌 오프라인 행사의 테마는 '알파의 강림 작전'이다. 새롭게 등장한 '루시아·역면'을 중심으로 행사장이 꾸며졌다.
 행사는 6월 19일부터 21일까지 3일간 진행되며, 운영 시간은 매일 오전 10시부터 오후 9시까지다. 장소는 신촌에 위치한 피시스 아카이브다. 홍대입구역 6번 출구 기준 도보 5분, 신촌역 8번 출구 기준 도보 7분 거리다. 행사장 내 주차는 지원되지 않는다.
 행사장은 지하 1층부터 지상 3층까지 구성됐다. 1층부터 3층까지 차례로 이벤트를 체험하고 굿즈를 구매한 뒤, 지하 1층 카페에서 여유롭게 휴식을 취하는 방식으로 동선을 짜면 효율적으로 즐길 수 있다.

 현장에서 스탬프 투어 미션을 완료하면 캐릭터 증명사진 랜덤 1종과 럭키드로우 참여 기회를 얻을 수 있다. 난이도도 어렵지 않아 방문했다면 꼭 참여해볼 만하다.
 3층 공식 굿즈샵에서는 다양한 굿즈가 준비돼 있었다. 메인 테마인 알파 관련 상품은 물론, 귀여운 콘셉트의 굿즈까지 폭넓게 구성됐다. 퍼니싱 IP를 좋아하는 유저라면 지갑이 쉽게 열릴 만한 라인업이다.
 행사장 규모만 놓고 보면 아주 큰 편은 아니다. 다만 제한된 공간 안에 콘텐츠를 알차게 배치했다는 인상이 강했다. 현장 스태프들도 친절하게 응대했고, 층별로 인원을 체계적으로 관리해 혼잡도도 심하지 않았다. 퍼니싱을 즐기는 지휘관이라면 큰 불편 없이 만족스럽게 즐길 수 있는 행사다.
 현장에서 의외의 반가운 존재도 만날 수 있었다. 이제는 쿠로게임즈 행사에서 빠지면 섭섭한 마스코트, 바로 인형탈이다.
 이번 행사 인형탈의 주인공은 알파였다. 그런데 묘하게 옆집 카멜탈이 떠올랐다. 의외로 성격이 만만치 않았다. 손에 들고 있는 1000t 망치로 지휘관들을 툭툭 치는 모습이 인상적이었다. 물론 카멜탈과 비교하면 아직은 얌전한 편이다.

 지하 1층 카페에서는 음료 3종과 디저트 2종을 판매한다. 음료와 디저트를 함께 구매하면 조금 더 효율적으로 이용할 수 있다.
 기자는 '역면의 블러드 오렌지 석류 스파클링'을 직접 마셔봤다. 무더위를 단번에 날려줄 정도로 시원하고 깔끔한 맛이었다. 솔직히 큰 기대 없이 주문했는데 예상보다 만족도가 높았다.
 굿즈를 구매한 뒤 카페에서 쉬고 있던 한 남성 지휘관은 "퍼니싱 오픈 시점부터 지금까지 꾸준히 플레이해 왔기에 이번 행사도 꼭 오고 싶었다"고 말했다.
 이어 "한국 서비스 초반에는 아쉬운 부분도 많았지만 지금은 많은 부분이 개선됐다"며 "이제는 충분히 믿고 즐길 수 있는 게임이라고 생각한다"고 덧붙였다.

 또 다른 여성 지휘관은 "친구가 플레이하는 걸 보고 시작했다"며 "당시 처음 봤던 일러스트와 그래픽 퀄리티가 정말 인상적이었다"고 전했다.
 이어 "행사 전반적인 만족도는 높았지만, 다른 오프라인 행사들처럼 리셀러 문제는 아쉬웠다"며 "진짜 게임을 즐기는 유저들이 굿즈를 구매할 수 있도록 간단한 퀴즈나 인증 절차가 있으면 좋겠다"고 의견을 밝혔다.
 마지막으로 "항상 응원하고 있다. 지금처럼 꾸준히 좋은 서비스를 이어갔으면 좋겠다"며 응원의 메시지도 남겼다.
 신촌 거리를 장식한 퍼니싱의 '알파의 강림 작전'. 현장이 궁금한 지휘관들을 위해 생생한 모습을 사진으로 담아봤다.
